Burn Out or Burn Bright? Here are 3 surefire steps to recover from a hectic week

Hello, and I hope that you are having a great day today!

Yes! Finally, it’s a Friday! I know how excited you are to cap your work week with a final push to reach your targets, meet your deadlines, and set things up for the next working week.

It may be an understatement to say that you are stressed out, in fact with the way things are going, it may be safe to say that you are already depleted… and it's just the start of the year!

Don't let stress rob you of the life that you dream of having for this year. Here are 3 ways that you can win over stress. Set an intention, Seek out inspiration, Take Action.

Nothing directs your day more purposively than setting what you want to achieve for yourself. Before you go to bed tonight, write the 3 most joyful things that you will do for this weekend. It is best to include these in your journal so that you are constantly reminded of them throughout the weekend. What joyful activities have you been putting off during the week because you needed to attend to tasks, deadlines, and distractions? If you close your eyes and imagine the perfect weekend unfolding, how would that look like?

You know when you are inspired, right? You feel excited, you feel energized and you want to get on with the idea and make it a reality immediately. Take 15 minutes off from your busy day. Place yourself in a comfortable position in a place where you have no distractions, take a deep slow breath, and let your body ease into this wonderful flow. Picture in your mind how your perfect day will unfold. Start with the way that you will wake up, how you will have your breakfast, how you will cuddle with your spouse and your kids, and how you will use the rest of the day to do everything that makes your heart sing. From watercolor painting to baking, to gardening, to creating music, you have full control of how you would like your ideal weekend to be.

One of my favorite slogans comes from a very famous sports brand "Just do it". Your mind will tell you …"Nah! That's a lot of crap! You tried but it's just too damn hard." At this point, acknowledge these thoughts, know that they are automatic, and know that they are not true. Reset by counting backward silently in your mind. Count 5,4,3,2,1, get up from your bed, and "Just do it!".

Intention, Inspiration, Action. Make these your go-to guide to recover, refresh and recharge. You are a wonderful creation and you are made for greater things. Take good care of yourself and bless others with who YOU are.

If you found value in this article, please share it with someone whom you know can use a much-needed recharge.

Have a deeply recharging weekend.
